Laffghanistan: Comedy Down Range documents comedian Graham Elwood’s personal journey from the sunny beaches of Southern California to the sun-baked moonscape of Afghanistan, where the military’s Department of Morale, Welfare and Recreation has enlisted him to entertain the troops. Whether humping from gig-to-gig on Blackhawk helicopters, performing on a concrete slab during the time of day soldiers affectionately refer to as “rocket o’clock,” or driving at breakneck speeds on the landmine-laden one-way highway between Kandahar and Kabul, Elwood’s psychedelic travels through a warzone are simultaneously hilarious, harrowing and heartbreaking.  His journey becomes unpredictably personal, creating a documentary that no one expected, least of all Graham.
